Blue Jeans Adds Mobile Endpoints

Blue Jeans video conference

Blue Jeans Network, with approximately $50M in venture capital funding, announced their new mobile integration with iPhone and iPad last week.  They also expanded their enterprise offerings through a new partnership with video conference vendor TelyLabs which sells bargain room video conference setups using HD flat panel screens and Skype for under $1000.  You could say that TelyLabs’ offering is a sort of Cisco Umi gone SMB.

For enterprises that are stuck trying to get their money’s worth out of expensive Cisco and Polycom room systems, Blue Jeans and TelyLabs offer a way to get some more bang out of their legacy video conferencing system. Blue Jeans advertises the ability to bring together all kinds of endpoints including “Cisco, Polycom, Lifesize, Sony, Huawei, Microsoft Lync, Skype, Google, any Web browser, and even telephones into a single meeting.”  It is also working to give its features more collaborative oomph such as having simultaneous HD streams – one for interactive video and one for content-sharing.
