Is it possible to build the VSee application so that it does not need to be installed - sort of like a portable app? This would be great when trying to talk to people who have no install rights (corporate PC's), or for use at internet café's and the like.
A good example of this type of approach is netviewer at
http://www.netviewer.co.uk/.
Thanks.

Yes and no. We're getting close to allowing a VSee installation without admin rights (which seems to solve your issues), but we don't have VSee as a portable app at present.
We're curious what your usage would be, and if we can make it happen, we'd like to possibly use you as a case study. Would you be willing to contact me about this? Email me (John) c/o support@vsee.com.
Thanks,
John

Hi John,
This may not fit your licensing model.
I've tried gotomeeting and this allows you to invite up to 15 people to your meeting, none of whom need to pay. The only person paying the license is the one starting the meeting. The same sort of situation is true for netviewer (but with a 100 person limit I think), mentioned above. gotomeeting uses the Java runtime to operate it's clients, so can be installed even on locked down corporate machines (I know, as I tried it at work on a very restricted guest account). netviewer uses a standalone .exe which also works well on such machines (and can be run from a memory stick if required). Bandwidth issues are a problem though on these two platforms, and neither are as nice to use as Vsee! I would recommend you try these services (both have free trials) to see what I mean (although gotomeeting does not have video support).
So, I was wondering, if I was to purchase a pro license, it would be great to invite guests to chat or collaborate, as would be possible with the above solutions. If you manage to produce a no admin rights install, then maybe a client only version (i.e. cannot call out, but only receive calls, or perhaps cannot call out to fee paying (i.e. commercial) members) could be made available for just such a scenario. There could of course be a limit to the quantity of non-fee paying guests to protect your revenue stream.
As an aside, I would probably not require the use of Vsee everyday. I am involved in training courses and conferences that run maybe three or four times a year for several days at a time. This is where the above would be useful - we can invite the odd person on a adhoc basis that cannot make it to these sessions. Is it possible to purchase a license for one month when required, then cancel, and purchase another month at a later time? Sort of "pay as you go"?
Thanks,
Lee

Hi Lee,
We don't plan any Java or Flased-based versions (creates quality issues). I've used GoToMeeting a few times (prior to discovering VSee!) and have a good idea what you're talking about. We've discussed some of these ideas and hope the "no admin" install will help, although for the time being we're leaving invites up to the users (just include your ID and the homepage URL). It's kind of nice to set up my own account and be able to see your availability in my own address book!
Calling into Pro accounts is already free, unless you're already paying for your account. We're still working out the best ways to provide guests ways to call Pro accounts, but everyone a Pro license vsees is calling from either a personal account (any otherwise noncommercial user--maybe it's just a guy calling his accountant!) or commercial user that either already has a paid-for account or is starting the free trial. Which actually helps funnel our sales, giving us a strong reason to let the "no admin" install be a fully functional version!
As to your question about picking up and dropping the subscription for when you need it...absolutely. We're happy to let you operate an a "pay as you go" subscription. Obviously, this will be easier for us once we've automated our payment process more, but we can do that. You'll be able to pick right back up with your same account ID as if you'd never left.
I must admit...I'm intrigued by the memory stick usage. I need to ask about that... ;)

I almost forgot to mention, you would be able to use the free version of VSee during your downtime; assuming, of course, that you wouldn't be using it for any other commercial purposes.
Hope that's helpful for you!

Wife leaves to visit relatives tomorrow, and I'm fitting an ironkey for her tonight containing firefox portable with all the "buttons" she needs. Would have preferred to include a vsee portable too (probably an audio only version), and just boxed it with a small plantronic cellular headset (with adapters). Why not just use cellular? Not the appropriate tool for this situation (lots of work to do) + she'd use up her prepaid sim card.
A version of ironkey will soon be available as a bootable OS. Would love to see Vsee as just one of the apps.
