Any idea if VSee will be available for other operating systems like OS X, Linux, *BSD or whatever else there is?

Hi Simon
OSX/Linux are on our roadmap, but is not likely in the next 12-18 months. We're also thinking of trying other strategies for porting to these platforms - such as running in a browser applet.

Well, I don't want to set anyone's expectations too high - we're still exploring if browser applet is technically possible/desirable :-)
Btw thanks very much for your constant support and suggestions. We may be a bit inconsistent in our responsiveness, but we do read each feature request/bug report as soon as its posted. They do help to guide the development of VSee.

It's coming. We're hoping for a summer release. I've seen the internal beta working and am very excited at how quickly it's coming together.

Well, if we can dream a bit....
I'd love to see VSee on the iPad and iPhone. I know there isn't a video camera on the iPad nor a front-facing video camera on the iPhone 3GS -- but sometimes applications drive hardware hacks. Heck, you could even limit VSee to 802.11n - just get us there, hardware hackers will us the rest of the way :)

Would you be able to email me some info about your getting that set up? I'd love to get some more details, as I know we haven't been testing a Linux version ourselves. You can send to support@vsee.com and I'll respond from my direct email.
That definitely was a cool picture. Thanks!

Don't need operating systems....just a USB/Flash load running Vsee.
Gather up all the old moldy hardware - put it to work. No MS shakedown.
Something for those new low powered sbcs would be nice...complete with watchdog timer.
Of course all would work best with H.263 offload onto a dedicated chip :) :) :)

You're on to something here. I oftentimes load portable apps into flashdrives for family members...mostly with button configured browsers. Saves an enormous amount of haggling over their "always broken" windows setups.
Just thinking out loud here, and realize this constitutes "opinion"....but a self contained Vsee lacking any reliance on Windows would also be useful. Of course that would necessarily limit your features - but it would always work.
I'm even suspecting purpose built Vsee hardware would have utility. "Works and no excuses".
May be different in Silicon Valley, but most of the university dorms I've walked through contained piles of non functional PCs - and lots of kids afraid to tell their parents. Have witnessed similar antics in business circles where the assigned user is caught up in "oh lord, please let me get it back the way it wuz". IMO, communication devices should always work. As long as Vsee is tied to an OS - it's vulnerable to that OS.
