VSee Release Version 3.5 – Push Notifications

VSee api update release

Previous week, VSee released new versions for Windows, Mac, iOS and Android.

The new version numbers are:

  • Windows version 3.5 (29261)
  • Mac version 3.5 (29272)
  • iPad 3.7 (29273)
  • iPhone 2.3 (29273)
  • Android 1.9 (29261)

All clients:

  1. Group chat history is now stored on the XMPP server and locally. In call chat history is not stored.
  2. Participants can retrieve the entire chat history for the chat after joining a group chat.
  3. Display the status of messages: sending, delivered, or seen.
  4. Display typing status when remote user starts typing.

Android:

  1. Push notifications are now being used to send all forms of chat and call requests while mobile clients are in the background.
  2. Improved video performance on Android Nougat.
  3. Added support for unread group chat message count.
  4. Fixed crash on Android Nougat when device is rotated during call.

iPad and iPhone:

  1. Push notifications are now being used to send all forms of chat and call requests while mobile clients are in the background.
  2. Replaced “Stethoscope Audio Input” with “Stethoscope External Mic”. Stethoscope audio mode is enabled only when an external mic is connected and active.
  3. Fixed crash on logging out related to Auto Quality Control.
  4. Fixed crash on end call.
  5. Improvements for chat view including chat bubble, buttons, chat history.

Mac:

  1. Added option to remotely switch an iPhone/iPad user’s mic between internal and external using the Stethoscope icon on remote video window.
  2. Fixed missed call window showing on logging out.
  3. Improvements for chat UI including chat history, chat bubble.

Windows:

  1. Added recent chat in the chat window.
  2. Improved text selection on chat.
  3. Added support for sending file through chat between Windows clients.
  4. Added option for resending chat if it fails to send.
  5. Added option to remotely switch an iPhone/iPad user’s mic between internal and external using the Stethoscope icon on remote video window.
  6. Fixed “Starting camera and microphone” never get hidden on local video window.

While this release is not a breaking update, we highly recommend that everybody installs it as soon as possible, as there may be compatibility issues with VSee 3.4 and before due to the new push notification system.

Windows  – Click the Help icon in the address book –>select “About VSee…” and see if it is the latest version.

Mac  – Click “VSee” top menu and choose “check for updates.”
