Vuzix + VSee Telehealth AR Smart Glasses

VSee Vusix Smart Glasses Telehealth

VSee is excited to be partnering up with Vuzix, the “granddaddy of Google Glass,” to finally make telemedicine a reality for smart glasses. We will be showcasing the telemedicine and telehealth solution on the Vuzix M300XL and Vuzix Blade at the 2019 American Telemedicine Association Conference & Expo – New Orleans April 14-16th, booth #727. The solution is expected to be commercially available in the latter part of Q2.

Vuzix is a leading supplier of Smart-Glasses and Augmented Reality (AR) technologies and products for the consumer and enterprise markets. It holds 144 patents and patents pending and numerous IP licenses in th Video Eyewear field. The company has won Consumer Electronics Show (or CES) awards for innovation for the years 2005 to 2019 and several wireless technology innovation awards among others.

Vuzix commercially launched Vuzix Blade at CES 2019 for $999. The Verge covered it in February “as a solid, though clearly first-generation version, of what Google Glass once promised.” It made Wareable’s best augmented reality glasses of 2019 as “the first pair of really useful commercial AR glasses.” It also made Lifewire’s Best 8 Smart Glasses for 2019 as “the first smart glasses to come with Alexa, Amazon’s virtual assistant.”

Paul Travers, President and CEO at Vuzix says, “The VSee telemedicine video conferencing platform is easy and simple to use.  We are excited to offer a telemedicine video conferencing smart glasses hardware option to our existing customers, first responders and to VSee’s extensive telemedicine customer base.”

Dr. Milton Chen, CEO at VSee says, “Telemedicine video conferencing through smart glasses from Vuzix is a natural progression from tablets and computers for our customers.  We are excited about this partnership and look forward to continued collaboration between our two companies.”

Unlike the Google Glass experiment which had trouble with battery life and overheating to the point of burning users, Vuzix is making video telemedicine applications possible. Surgeons wearing Vuzix smart glasses can live stream surgical procedures while interacting with remote students. First responders wearing Vuzix smart glasses can receive direction and input from remote doctors.

Join us at ATA 2019 in New Orleans April 14-16th, and get your demo at VSee booth #727.
