For many communities across Africa, basic healthcare remains out of reach. Families often travel for days to see a doctor, putting lives and wellbeing at risk. Planet Walk Africa is determined to change that—one step at a time.
This August, Dr. John Francis, the “Planet Walker”, sets out on a powerful new mission that fuses humanitarian and environmental advocacy. Beginning in Beaufort West, South Africa, and walking north to Gaborone, Botswana, Dr. Francis won’t just raise awareness; he’ll deliver real solutions.
We are proud that Dr. Francis will be using our portable VSee Telemedicine Kit to bring real-time virtual healthcare directly to underserved and overlooked communities along his route. What once took days now takes minutes, connecting patients with medical care regardless of distance.
The VSee Telemedicine Kit has been used to deliver care to remote areas around the world:
-doing medevac evaluations on Shell offshore oil rigs in Nigeria and Alaska
-running a remote eye clinic at a refugee camp in Iraq Kurdistan
-piloting a sea ambulance for the Kwajalein Atoll
-providing prenatal care and ultrasounds in a mountain region of the Philippines
-providing emergency care in the Indian Himalayans
This journey is more than just a walk, it’s a lifeline. With commitment, innovation, and partnership, bridging the healthcare gap is possible.
